College Visits This year's college visit season kicks off next week with a visit from Vanderbilt on Monday, Aug. 24, Holy Cross College on Tuesday, Aug. 25, and Saint Louis University on Thursday, Aug. 27. ALL students are invited to attend college visits and should RSVP through their appropriate "class of" Schoology pages. Please see Ms. Cirino or Ms. Hughes with any questions about registering. Students who RSVP are expected to attend. All visits take place at lunchtime in Ms. Hughes's room, KC 207. Please bring your lunch and be prompt!
Community Service Be sure to check the Community Service group in Schoology to find out about some upcoming volunteer opportunities. Local organizations want help at Frog Follies, a local rodeo, and Halloween activities in Newburgh. You can also lend a hand with feeding the less fortunate, renovating a house, and removing invasive species. If you aren't a member of the group or aren't sure where to look, see Mrs. Atkinson in room 203.
La Tomatina: Coming Soon! What better way to celebrate the finale of the first month of school than by throwing water balloons at your friends! This year for La Tomatina, we will be throwing red, white, and blue water balloons to celebrate both the Spanish tradition and the United States' 250th anniversary! Come join us for La Tomatina at the Grassy Knoll on Wednesday August 26th at 3:30. Everyone is invited to participate, whether or not they are in Spanish class. The entry fee is $2.! Try to bring the exact amount!
National Science Bowl National Science Bowl is back. Last year, Signature CELL-ebrated 4th in the state, and we have the POTENTIAL to climb even higher. If you have a QUICK REACTION RATE when performing under PRESSURE, ACCELERATE to our first meeting this Wednesday at lunch. We meet in Mr. Bullington's room, KC 203. See you there!
Club Rush Mark your calendars for this Thursday's Club Rush on the Grassy Knoll! Meet the leaders of Signature's more than 30 clubs and organizations! Get connected and engaged whether you love foreign language, STEM, community service, athletics, speech & debate, or the arts! Club Rush will last from 3:15-4:30 in the Grassy Knoll on Thursday.
Teen Power TEENPOWER club is meeting this Wednesday the 26th. If you have attended a middle or high school camp in the past or are interested in what TEENPOWER is, join TEENPOWER club during lunch in Ms. Price's room on the fifth floor of the main building to learn more. Volunteer Opportunity There are still volunteer spots at two Frog Follies booths this weekend: one to sell food and another to sell t-shirts. Please help raise money for Easter Seals and the YMCA! Check the signups in the Community Service group in Schoology. Also, any student volunteering should come see Mrs. Atkinson for information about where to go when you arrive. Please stop by room 203.
Chess Club Interested in playing Chess? Come to Chess club's first meeting- today at lunch in Room 505.
Math Club Today Math Club has an after school meeting in the KC Commons. La Tomatina will be at 3:30 so if you are participating in that, feel free to come afterwards. Anyone is invited to come even if they couldn't make it to our meetings last week. Tutoring will also be held in Ms. Hughes room, KC 207. Please arrange to be picked up at 4:30. See you there!
Girls' Golf Signature girls' golf was on PAR-fect form against North Posey. The girls brought home the win, and Sophie Ng topped the leaderboard with a first place finish.
Student Council Student Council will be hosting a lunchtime meeting on Friday, August 28th on the 5th floor of the Victory. Bring a packed lunch and arrive promptly as we will be picking committees for this semester! If you were unable to attend last week's meeting and wish to join Student Council, please email Emmalynn Briody or Max Razor.
