School Profile
In order to fulfill our mission, we have designed curricular and extra-curricular offerings that provide intellectually rich experiences culminating in widely recognized academic credentials for every student.
With a curriculum that encompasses a robust selection of courses, including 22 International Baccalaureate (IB) and 22 Advanced Placement (AP) offerings, students engage in a challenging academic environment. Additionally, the majority of their coursework is conducted at the Honors level, reflecting a commitment to a high standard of education and academic achievement. This multi-faceted approach ensures a well-rounded and rigorous educational experience for all participants.
- Signature School’s three-building, downtown campus expanded in 2019 thanks to Indiana’s Regional Cities grant whose mission is to attract industry leaders to our community.
- The downtown YMCA serves as the school’s gym .
- Two nearby libraries provide research facilities.
- Students patronize downtown restaurants for lunch.
- Tuition-free enrollment is open to all Indiana public school students. Applications have exceeded capacity since 2008, and freshmen are chosen by public lottery.
- Students are from 5 counties and over 30 feeder schools. They speak 22 languages and represent 15 nationalities.
- 8% participate in the Free and Reduced program.
- All 4-year students take coursework in pursuit of three diplomas: Indiana Academic Honors, AP Capstone, and International Baccalaureate.

- 8-semester, 4-point scale GPA is weighted according to the following rule:
- AP and IB courses passed with a C or better earn 1 extra quality point if the student takes the corresponding AP or IB exam
- At least 25 documented hours of community service per student, per year
- 30 clubs and organizations, mostly academic, several affiliated with national honor societies
- 3 lifetime sports: golf, cross country, and track/ field
As a public charter, Signature School presents a record of each year’s activities and benchmarks to the school’s sponsor, the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation. The school publishes the information in the Annual Reports.
