Fine Arts
Band, orchestra, and jazz band meet before school at 7:30 AM. Band meets on Mondays and Wednesdays, Orchestra meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and Jazz band meets on Fridays. Concerts from these groups take place in the fall and spring.
As part of Fine Arts Connections, freshman students spend a semester learning about the Performing Arts, including studying music. Other academic music options include AP Music Theory, Music SL, Music HL, and Piano Lab. Signature also boasts a concert choir, the Signature Singers, who perform throughout the year at concerts and private functions.
As part of Fine Arts Connections, freshman students spend a semester in the art course. Other course offerings include Visual Art 1 & 2, Art SL, & Art HL. The IB annual art show traditionally takes place at the Southwest Indiana Arts Council in the spring.
The dance class meets in the studio on the fourth floor of the Victory Theatre. Dance is offered on pre-IB, SL, and HL levels. IB dance students traditionally perform a flash mob dance at Main Street Attraction.
Musical Theatre students rehearse after school two to three days per week to prepare two productions each academic year: a play in the fall and a musical each spring. Students may choose to enroll in the Musical Theatre 1 or 2 course to receive credit for their participation in a production.
