Senior Advice for Underclassmen

by: Alex Hastings and Rocio Jimenez

Before the seniors take off for the wonderful world of college, they have just a few words to say to the high schoolers they are leaving behind.

Senior Lauren Brown advised her fellow students to "turn your homework in on time." Seriously, those zeros add up really fast and your grade takes a nosedive.

Senior Amanda Harris wanted the juniors to remember to "enjoy your last year of high school" and not "get caught up in the stress of senior year." Senior Joseph Vangampler advised his fellow students to not let school take over their lives and to remember to have fun.

"Don't procrastinate and drink a lot of coffee," senior Savannah Maxey remarked while Senior Erin Cheaney advised those she will leave behind after graduation to "fight off senioritis. It is a debilitating disease. It should be war at all costs."

Senior Charles Baker told his fellow students not to "think procrastination won't come back to bite you." Are you seeing the trend yet? Don't procrastinate!

Cheaney had one last comment for her fellows here at Signature. "Don't panic about the future. You'll survive. Probably." Deep breaths.

And it's not just your parents telling you to do your homework before you watch TV. Senior Kevin Bell said to "study now, play later." For those students entering the IB program, Bell recommended that they "finish the extended essay over the summer."

Senior Daniel Poelhuis counseled the underclassmen to not let "things that are not important be a big deal. Learn to let it go." Your lives will be much easier if you don't turn molehills into mountains.

So as all of you underclassmen graduate to the next year of high school, keep all of this good advice in mind and it will make your remaining years of high school much easier.
